ASFER is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1987 to promote research in economics and related disciplines in the Arab world.
The association publishes a quarterly journal, titled
“بحوث اقتصادية عربية (Arab Economic Research)”,
and a bimonthly newsletter, titled, “الرباط (The Rabat)”.
ASFER also organizes conferences, workshops, and other events to promote economic research and dialogue in the Arab world.

The Arab Researcher Scholarship Program
In the context of celebrating the thirty years since the founding of the Arab Association for Economic Research, the Board of Directors of the Association decided, in its meeting held in Cairo on January 26, 2019, to launch a program for research grants for Arab researchers for the year 2019, to highlight the work of economic pioneers from various Arab countries, who have influenced The Arab Library for their work over the past decades, provided that the value of each grant is one thousand US dollars.
